South End is gearing up to add yet another sushi option to the neighborhood.
Yamazaru is making 2173 Hawkins Street home. This is the space next to Sycamore Brewing.
The menu will feature unique sushi rolls, a sake bar, ramen and soba noodles, fried rice, small-plate appetizers and a full bar, said owner Kazuharu Hatakeyama on Tuesday.
The restaurant, which Hatakeyama describes as being not unlike Izakaya, will offer dishes that hover around the $10-$11 mark. With those prices, he expects a full meal to run $30 per person.
Though the aim for opening was late December, Yamazaru is now looking at a potential January 1 opening. We’ll keep you updated.
