Real talk
I actually really like to camp. But you know what I like better? Eating s’mores, relaxing, enjoying good conversation with good people, and then sleeping in my own bed.
So, I’m especially pumped that Tabor is bringing world-class exploring voices, very cool outdoor brands, local community organizations and some of Charlotte’s favorite treats into one jam-packed adventure afternoon next Saturday in Myers Park. Here’s the run down of events.

The eats
Start your Saturday right by stopping by the fire pit and s’mores station. So cozy.
Lenny Boy Brewery will be on site with (free!) kombucha and brews, and Luna’s Living Kitchen will be serving (free!) granola parfaits. I’m also pumped about free tea tasting with The Lost Explorer.
The Living Kitchen juice truck will also be on site with fresh juices for purchase.

Tea time conversation will take place with world-class adventurer, and ecologist David de Rothschild (founder of The Lost Explorer) and Peter Buchanan Smith, the founder of Best Made.
Join David’s 20k+ followers on Twitter or get excited by checking out this podcast interview with David.
RSVP for the panel discussion by emailing Tabor directly: [email protected].
The community players
Stroll through the “Org-yard” in our courtyard that features representatives from local partners such as Camp Thunderbird, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the Catawba Lands Conservancy to encourage conversations around supporting the outdoors in our community.
There will also be a Living Bulletin Board so you can explore other ways to get involved.
Note: If you are part of a CLT organization and want to share your outdoor-related mission, you are welcome to participate in the Living Bulletin Board, too! Contact Tabor with questions.
The mission
It’s all about helping Charlotteans re-connect to the outdoors – both near and far – and experience the power of design in nature. 5% of shopping proceeds from Base Camp will go to the Catawba Land Conservancy and 5% of shopping proceeds will go to Camp Thunderbird.
