The Charlotte Marriott Center City renovations are complete.
I have written extensively about how gorgeous they are and how it takes this hotel to the next level. They represent a shift in the industry to focus not only on the guests that stay in the city, but also the locals that live in the city.
[Agenda story: The Charlotte Marriott City Center renovations are near completion and they’re spectacular]
It is also a major investment for Marriott corporate.
They have put tens of millions of dollars into this renovation to transform it into a world-class hotel that will become the “baseline” for all Marriotts going forward. What is amazing about this is they chose to do this right here in Charlotte. They recognize the value of this market and acted upon it.
Stoke is fantastic, Stoke Bar is next level for bars Uptown and Coco and the Director, well it’s safe to say everyone loves it.
But reflectively it is interesting to see what this all replaced.
Champions, a dingy sports bar that was… well, it served its purpose I guess. The cigar bar had no business being there and I am never a proponent of anything tobacco related (#internetactivism) so I am glad that is gone. Savannah Red was also another purpose service restaurant but it was tucked away and never really catered to the local market.
Lets take a look at how far this property has come in such a short amount of time.
These pictures will represent a before and after of some of the common areas, as for Coco and Stoke, get in there and see them yourself.
