100 Gardens is looking to open a retail garden center in NoDa with the help of donations

Seeds on 36th: Urban Farming Supply and Training Center is the second big step in the program’s development, following their recent partnership with Plaza Midwood’s Pure Pizza.

Through the creation of a retail space, 100 Gardens is aiming to “inspire our community to participate in urban farming” by providing the public with the necessary supplies and live displays. But in order to see it come to life in the Spring of 2017, the program is asking for help on IndieGogo to the tune of $60,000.

The shell of the center, has already been purchased and the first aquaponics display and basic shelving have all been acquired. The $60,000, then, would go toward a storefront, signage, point-of-sale system and initial inventory.

There are, of course, rewards for those willing to back the project.

• $136 – Invite to the pre-Grand Opening party and a 5% discount on all items during the first year of business
• $360 – Invite to the pre-Grand Opening party, 10% discount on all items during the first year of business and free admission to the Spring Aquaponics Workshop, where you’ll learn all the basics of the technique

• $630 – Invite to the pre-Grand Opening party, 10% discount on all items during the first year of business and an in-depth consultation to help get you started with your own backyard farm or small urban farming business
• $1,360 – Invite to the pre-Grand Opening party and a spot on the official Founders Plaque that will be mounted to the 3,000-gallon fish tank

The campaign has already received over $6,000 from over 41 donors.
