New Taiwanese shaved snow concept hosting popup on Saturday at Seoul Food Meat Co

Bon Appetit recently reported, “Shaved snow is the fluffiest, most delightful frozen dessert there is.”

Concepts have popped up on the West Coast and in the Northeast. Reminds me of the frozen yogurt craze.

“This popular street food in Taiwan has been brought overseas to America, “said Richard Bun, owner of Snow Fluff Shavery. “Shops are popping up all over the west coast and north east. We are looking to host pop up shops until we can secure a storefront for the business.”

What is shaved snow?

Richard described it to me as a “Mix of ice cream and shaved ice molded into a cylinder ice mold.”

Molds are mixed with different snow flavors such as Mango, Green Tea Matcha, Taro, and Black Sesame. There will also be limited edition flavors.

“Once the mold is frozen we use a unique shaver which shaves the ice mold into ribbon texture into a 16oz cup and then we add fresh fruit and snack size treats on top of the snow fluff then drizzled with sweet condensed milk.”

When and where can you try this?

Snow Fluff Shavery will have a pop up location at South End’s Seoul Food Meat Company this Saturday, October 8 from noon to 5 p.m.
