The Neighborhood Theatre property in NoDa has been sold for $5.6 million, but the new owners are pledging to keep the building standing.
The new owners (led by Jon Dixon of LCRE Partners) have experience in adaptive reuse and will be preserving the building and say they won’t be making major changes.
“There are no plans to demolish the property or make significant changes to tenants,” the company, 36th & NoDa LLC, says.
That’s encouraging news to local music fans, who have already lost a bunch of small and mid-sized venues in recent months. The Chop Shop, Amos’ Southend, Tremont Music Hall and the Double Door Inn have all closed down or announced they would close in the past year.

The property also includes Boudreaux’s Louisiana Kitchen, Salud Beer Shop, The Sanctuary, and FUD @ Salud.

Don’t expect immediate changes there, either. Instead, the new owners say they’ll be investing in overdue maintenance and to spruce up the property.
