Trading in my 8th grade golf look for legit menswear at Tabor. 5 styles from $130.

Unlike Cam Newton, I’m not a stylish guy. But now that I’m old, it’s time to up my game. On a Saturday, my son and I went to Tabor to see how a startup dad can upgrade his look. We shopped for about an hour. Here’s the before and after.

My current look

What I’m Wearing:

• $(?) golf shirt.
• $69 Nike Air Max shoes.
• $12 NoDa hat.
• $40 Bonobos shorts.
• $4 Nike calf high socks.

Quick Self-Assessment:
Candidly, I do feel like an 8th grade lacrosse player that’s about to go play golf with his dad. I do love the sneakers though.

I loved the people putting stuff on my body.

I’m scared of shopping. Seriously. That said, I found my experience at Tabor to be much more casual that I anticipated. Being an unstylish guy, I was pretty intimidated before meeting the warm staff.

Tabor is serious about the fit.

I bought a $400 suit from Jos A Banks about two years ago and I look like I’m swimming in it even though they measured me. I guess I was looking for cheap – and that’s exactly what I got.

The experience at Tabor was night and day.
