For your convenience, here is the grade each Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools campus received. The grades are based on proficiency on math and reading tests, as well as whether students are improving their scores. High school scores are also based on graduation rate.
A grade of A+NG means it’s an A+ school — the highest standard of test scores, without achievement gaps between white and minority students.
Here are the grades. Keep in mind that the letter grades do not tell the whole story. Schools can have low grades but still be high-quality if they’re advancing students rapidly. The North Carolina grading system gives high priority to overall proficiency — which correlates strongly with income — and relatively low weighting to whether scores are improving.
