Regal Cinemas Stonecrest is getting an upgrade — including recliners

The movie theater in Stonecrest is undergoing renovations this month — and the biggest new addition will be new king-size recliners.
Regal has been making similar moves at theaters across the country to combat the incursion home theaters and streaming video have made into its business.
The Regal Starlight Stadium up by Charlotte Motor Speedway already has recliners in place.

Nearly half the lobby is blocked off for the work, though the company is keeping fairly mum on the details. Building permits indicate that the theater will also be getting a new air conditioning system. Over the weekend, the AC was not working.
