If you’ve ever come out of the parking garage into the lobby of Aloft at the EpiCentre, you’ve probably noticed the big orange thing to your left. It’s called an Amazon Locker, and this one is named Stephen.

The locker is part of an initiative by Amazon to meet buyers who don’t want their package being left outside of their door or in their apartment’s mailroom or can’t have packages delivered to their workplace in the middle.
As long as the package you ordered is within the specified dimensions – anything smaller than 16.5 x 13.8 x 12.6 inches and less than 10 pounds – you can use Stephen free of charge (shipping rates still apply). Naturally, we tried it out for you.
We went back and forth on what the Agenda HQ was in dire need of and it came down to Diet Coke, La Croix and dish towels. Dish towels seemed to be the most pressing, so we hit order.
To ship something to Stephen, you need to add it to your address book. Find the location here and make it your new shipping destination.
Shipping will take the same amount of time, regardless of if you’re using Prime or standard shipping. Amazon will let you know when your package is on its way and when you can expect it to be in the locker.
Maybe they’ll even tell you at 8:22 p.m. that your package couldn’t be delivered and, at the same time, that your package should be delivered by 8 p.m.

Okay, Amazon.
When it does arrive, they’ll shoot you a text and an e-mail letting you know, along with a 6-digit code and barcode to open the locker (you can use either). You have three business days to pick up your package before it gets returned and the locker is accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

None of the lockers actually have locks on them, they’re impossible to open from the outside (you don’t even know until it opens which locker has your package) and the codes are never the same. If you’re worried about someone stealing your package, don’t be.
Congratulations! You have your package.

And the HQ finally has new dishtowels.
