In light of recent expansions to Charleston and Atlanta, 5Church in Charlotte is shaking things up a bit.
The Uptown restaurant will close September 4 – 7 for renovations and a menu revamp and will have a reopening celebration on September 8.
Co-owner and operator Patrick Whalen revealed that 90 percent of the menu will be brand new with some exceptions, including the lamb burger, the “60 second” NY strip, and the Viper cocktail. They’ve been rotating new menu items for the past several weeks to get feedback on final decisions.
As for décor, the 5,800-square-foot space will get new floors, light fixtures, furniture, and local artwork. No, the beautiful ceiling won’t be disturbed. The chefs are especially pumped for brand new kitchen equipment, which is already in place.
Based on what I tried, the new menu will be well worth the wait. Take a look at a few things I hope make the cut…
