Tastebuds Popcorn has been open since April at the Metropolitan.
The hand-crafted popcorn maker has its kitchen out in Belmont (the town) and another location in the Lake Norman area. I walked in for the first time this week and was blown away by how many options they had — more than 100. Here are some pro tips for when you go.
Talk to this guy first.
David Sayre runs the place and he’s passionate about popcorn. He’ll ask you about what types of dessert you like, etc., to get a read on your flavor palate.
Try some samples.
David will hand them to you like this.
Scope out the pricing.
This is high-end stuff, so it ain’t cheap. Plan accordingly.
If you still don’t know what you want, get the Decadent Dog.
If you’re going to a baby shower, go with the pink and blue.
Blueberry cheesecake for a boy shower. Champagne and strawberries for a girl shower.
Captains Cheesecake if you don’t know.
If you’re going to a cookout, go with one of these.
