Construction on the new Dowd Y parking deck begins in two weeks

If you’re an Uptown Y member, you’ve been waiting on this for awhile.
The Dowd Y is in line for $20 million-plus in renovations, and a big part of that will be the new parking deck.
The deck will also include an outdoor fitness area with a 40-yard dash course, medicine ball area, heavy punching bag, heavy rope, etc.

Here’s the timeline:
June 22: Construction fencing goes up around the parking lot to be turned into a deck. You’ll still be able to park there for the time being.
July 5: Construction begins.
December: Construction is completed.

2017: Construction on the renovations to the actual Dowd Y building begins.

Parking will be squeezed while this all takes place.
The Y is asking people to come at off-peak hours.
