Commuting sucks. But nothing makes a commute worse than driving it with a hangry stomach. Whether you’ve got a quick 10-minute drive or an hour long trek, here are a few go-to snacks to satisfy Charlotte commuters.

Here’s one you can easily grab on the go. These bars are great for morning or afternoon and they are handmade in Charlotte. Plus, they are gluten-, dairy-, soy- and egg-free. Look for them at Whole Foods and other local retailers.

Once in a while you’ve got to treat yourself, and if your commute takes you anywhere near Dilworth, Duck Donuts is where it’s at. They are doing things like putting bacon on donuts, which is truly inspiring.

Monday mornings are hard (so are Tuesday mornings, Wednesday mornings… you get where I’m going
with this). Nothing makes a morning or afternoon commute better quite like a Bojangles’ Cheddar Bo Biscuit. I mean… It’s a biscuit…with melty cheese… Enough said.
A Popsicle from King of Pops

With summer right around the corner, you’ll start seeing King of Pops stands all around Charlotte. They’ve got flavors like Raspberry Lime, Grapefruit Mint and Key Lime Pie. Not a bad way to commute. Pro tip: Eat with the windows down and Justin Timberlake’s new song blaring.
The ‘Morning Glory Muffin’ from Sunflour Baking Co.

This muffin packs a punch with carrots, apple, pineapple, coconut, raisins and walnuts. Their buttermilk scones are worth a try too. Sunflour Baking Co. even has two locations now, one in Elizabeth and one in Dilworth. #yas
