When I first dined at Village Tavern one year ago, I honestly could have sworn it was a local spot. It came highly recommended by several people, which just made me assume it was born in Charlotte. After all, we do love local around here.
I quickly found out (thanks, mom!) there are several locations across the country, but it was founded by our neighbors in Winston-Salem. Close enough.

Regardless, Village Tavern instantly became somewhere I wanted to return. I had a big bowl of Cajun seafood fettuccine (hello, leftovers) during my fist visit and made a meal of salads and appetizers (hot pimento cheese dip, YES) the second time around. And I’ve been back since for more.

Village Tavern is spacious and has great bar seating, but the ticket is to sit outside on their ginormous patio. I wrote about it in the fall as a drink-by-the-fire destination, but let’s be serious… Patios are even better on warm, sunny days.
