I have several pregnant friends who are looking to cover their new bumps and remain stylish, so I scoped out our local maternity shops.
While there are several larger brand stores such as Gap Maternity or Destination Maternity located throughout Charlotte, I was surprised to only find a few Charlotte-based stores. There aren’t a lot of options to shop local. Entrepreneurs, get on it.
The Milky Way
Address: 1419 East Boulevard
Located in Dilworth (across from Outback), The Milky Way provides maternity and nursing wear along with baby and gift items. Items included maternity and nursing bras, pajamas, BDA (before, during, after) pants and support tops. The Milky Way offers expertise — including maternity and nursing bra fittings — and carries hard-to-find sizes.
They also carry fashionable diaper bags and health and beauty items. I particularly liked the sleek, soft black dress that features zippers for nursing and handy pockets.
