The SkyHouse apartments in Fourth Ward held a grand opening for a new rooftop play area this weekend, called SkyPark. It’s roughly an acre, on the sixth floor above the parking garage, and it’s going to immediately become a hot spot.
The only bad news: This is for SkyHouse residents only. So you’ll need to find a friend who lives there to go hang out. Here’s why you’re going to want to.
Premium lounging areas with fire pits and stuff.
Open space where they’re going to do things like host boot camp workouts.
Two regulation-sized bocce ball courts if you know how to play. I don’t.
Two dog parks — one for big dogs and one for little dogs.
Impress your friends with your chess and golf skillz.
Solid bathroom so you don’t have to leave when you gotta go.
Regulation tennis court. Minus 10 points if you accidentally hit it off the side of the building.
And a pretty good view of construction on the second SkyHouse tower, to be finished next spring.
