I stood in line in Matthews to reserve the new Tesla Model 3 without even knowing what it looks like

When many of you were making your way to work Thursday morning, I was on a mission. By 8 a.m. I parked my rental car in the lot at the Tesla location in Matthews to join the other nerds and car enthusiasts in line for the national event of the year.
By any means necessary, the brand new Tesla Model 3 unveiled yesterday was going to be mine. Sight unseen. $1,000 down. No delivery until end of 2017. And it was glorious.
Note: I have never stood in line for ANY product at ANY time. So this moment was an adult life choice I’m proud to have experienced. Thanks for those of you that followed my journey via Periscope, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
Moving along. There are only a few brands/people I cult follow: Trader Joe’s, Beyonce, and Elon Musk. Over the last year I’ve been waiting. Waiting for Elon to drop the price on his gorgeously designed, zero emissions electric vehicle for the folks with regular bills and student loans.
As the saying goes: Ask and you shall receive. At $35,000 (not to mention the potential $7,500 government tax rebate saving) the Model 3 is slated to be the mass-market vehicle that will change the game for the electric car industry.
When you see me ridin’ clean at the end of 2017 (when the car is due to be delivered), wave and get into #formation.
Charlotte was excited about this. Check out my experience below:
