The cranes are back out at Olde Mecklenburg Brewery. This time it’s a new tank room.
This second cellar/tank room will have four universal tanks that can serve as fermenting, lager or brite tanks. Each will hold 240 barrels, twice as big as the current tanks.
It’s taking up a bit of parking right now.
But otherwise is not affecting operations.
But what about that cap thing?
If you’re confused about how OMB is expanding at the same time as they’re part of a movement to change state law restricting growth, here’s what’s up.
This expansion is going to help Olde Mecklenburg Brewery meet demand up to the 25,000 barrel cap on its production. The existing tanks are being used to their capacity. If the cap is lifted and OMB can go beyond 25,000 barrels, they’ll need to expand again.
