The owners of the Highland Mill Lofts in NoDa (where Heist Brewery is) plan to put about 30 townhomes around the edge of the property.
Saussy Burbank is the developer. Before they get too far into planning, the developers want to know what NoDa thinks about the idea.
Here’s where the townhomes will be.
We’re talking two- and three-story townhomes that will probably be priced around $400,000.
We don’t know what the design will be yet. Saussy Burbank CEO Charles Teal said the indication he’s getting from the Historic Landmarks Commission is to provide a contrast to the historic mill property rather than try to mimic it.

Teal said he wants to hear what people would like to see with the townhomes. Do people want things like gourmet kitchens inside? Rooftop terraces? Would they be interested in a “lockout unit,” where the first floor could function as a studio apartment for somebody while the owner lives on levels two and three?
