I know I sound like a broken record, but I don’t care. I will continue to say it. The growth and maturation of the Charlotte social scene is incredible to me. When I first moved here (2011) there was no variety in this city. Every place to hang out, every place to drink, every place to socialize was all cut from the same cloth.
Fast forward to 2016 and our world is changing, and wow, is it for the better. The Company Store adds another piece of evidence that were are progressing and maturing. Located at the corner of Yadkin and 36th Street, behind Davidson Public House and sharing a lot with Smelly Cat, The Company Store is opening Friday and you all need to get excited.

Scott Lindsley and Joey Hewell are giving NoDa (and Charlotte) a new “back porch” in the form of The Company Store. They wanted to provide a place for residents of NoDa and beyond (both young and old, new and veterans) to gather and enjoy life in Charlotte. To provide a comfortable hangout with a laid back atmosphere.
When I first walked in I was blown away at the ambience, chill lounge music (perfect) over the speakers, amazing artwork both inside and out (shout out to Matt Moore and Matt Hooker for the awesome mural lining the entire house), great selection of beer and wine, and the patio. The patio isn’t quite finished but come spring and summer I imagine it will be packed from open to close.

I was amazed at the simplicity of the atmosphere yet at the same time feeling like everything was so carefully planned. This spot adds to the eclectic and blossoming vibe that is NoDa night life. From college bars like Blind Pig (sorry, it is) to the inviting space of Davidson Street Public House, The Company Store adds to the arsenal of the scene.
As for the drinking, there will be wine bottles to buy, wine by the glass, beer to buy and beer on tap. There are six taps: One will always be prosecco, one will always be PBR and the other four will be a rotating stock featuring NoDa breweries.

There is only so much I can say about this place before it inevitably comes to “just check it out for yourself” so I will leave it at that. Opens Friday, corner of Yadkin & 36, go check it out yourself.
