Long weekends and daydreams will have to do, but if you find you’ve come down with Spring Fever and have to get out of town to cure it, I’ve rounded up 12 spots that will do it for you and sorted them by what you might be looking for.
If you’re looking to find sand in your toes and shells in your pocket:
Tybee Island, Georgia
Drive time: 4 1/2 hours
Stay: Tybee Island Inn
Eat: North Beach Bar and Grill
Do: Lose your keys and rent a bike.

Drive time: 3 hours and 45 minutes
Stay: OceanWatch Villas at Grand Dunes
Eat: River City Café
Do: Come ready to party. Head to Pawley’s Island or Hilton Head if that’s not your thing.
