Charlotte’s most unique fundraiser takes place next week at The Fillmore

Well, that’s what will happen at the All-In to Fight Cancer Texas Hold’em fundraiser, on Wednesday, March 9 at the Fillmore.

Benefiting organizations include: GoJenGo, the Novant Health Nurse Navigator Program, the Isabella Santos Foundation and 24 Hours of Booty.

I went last year and I can tell you, All-In to Fight Cancer takes its poker seriously and the operation is very well done.

Dealers are pros. The way they continue to increase blinds does a great job moving the tournament forward (so that it doesn’t take forever).

The event is in memory of Rob Eubank, who lost his life to cancer in 2011.

Founder Steve Amedio (Rob’s good friend and Technekes president): “Back in 2010, we were just a bunch of guys who played cards in a garage. When our friend Rob was diagnosed with cancer, we decided to have a poker fundraiser in his honor. We had no idea how tremendous our impact would be.”

This is Steve Amedio and Kory Eubank speaking at least year’s event.

Tickets are on sale now. It costs $250 to play and $75 to go hang out.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and cards are dealt at 6:30 p.m. sharp. Food provided by JJ’s Red Hots and there will be live music as well. Tickets.
