So, backstory. I just got married in January which means that this will be my first Valentine’s Day as a wife – though my husband and I dated for three years before getting engaged. Not entirely our first rodeo.
Normally we are a super low-key, non-Valentine’s-y kind of couple, and that’s probably still true as a married pair. That low-key-ness, for me, means that I am truly as happy to open a thoughtful letter as I would be to receive an expensive piece of jewelry.
So just in case he decides to go for it, I’m literally putting my wish list on the internet.
(1) Jewelry, the types of pieces where design > cost

Again, we just got married. Really don’t need anything too legit at the moment. BUT there are so many incredibly talented jewelry designers in Charlotte, I would totally accept a piece of hand-made, semi-precious jewelry. Kristin Hayes, Meredith A. Jackson, Laura James and Twine and Twig are a few of my favorites. Also, literally anything that was presented at BRANDSHOP (scavenger hunt).
(2) Pink Social tee

I would not usually put clothes on a wish list for a significant other, but my husband appreciates cheeky humor, plus it’s not that hard to get sizing right on a loose-fitting graphic tee. I literally want everything that Pink Social makes (except Bebe Mama…) but he’d have to do some closet stalking to make sure not to get me one that I already own.
(3) Bojangles’ Heart-Shaped Bo-Berry Biscuits + Coffee

For real though. I have a special love for Bojangles’ that goes back to childhood – and lives on almost every Sunday. I’m all about gesture over $$, and if he brought me two warm Heart-Shaped Bo-Berry biscuits and a large coffee while I was working (yes, we sometimes work on Sundays here at the Agenda), I would be so tickled I might even let him have one of them. Alternatively, we could put ice cream on them and have a very ‘50s-style date at home with our two puppies. Newlywed life at its finest.
(4) Massage

I’m all about the experiential gift, especially when it’s something as indulgent as a massage. I tend to crave massages for months on end without ever getting around to pulling the trigger. I’m also game for a couple’s massage – maybe we split this gift and call it a day?
(5) Pasta & Provisions date night

Carbs and I have a special newlywed relationship, too, and I think Valentine’s is the perfect time to celebrate our love. There’s something undeniably romantic about a home-cooked meal, and getting a little help from professionals with major skills just can’t hurt anything. I love the gourmet-yet-homey feel of loading up on Pasta & Provisions ingredients and whipping them up. Foolproof.
