Is there anyone in Charlotte who DOESN’T know that a new Pasta & Provisions is opening on Park Road?
At last, the long-anticipated Pasta & Provisions Park Road location is planning a soft opening for this Thursday, January 28, and Charlotte can’t wait.
“We’re just as excited as everyone else,” said Dylan George, one of owner Tommy George’s sons.
The original Italian market on Providence Road has been around for 23 years, making it a neighborhood staple for many loyal customers. Over the years, Tommy has opened stores in other locations but later decided to operate from just his Providence Road shop. But he’s had his eye on this Park Road structure for 12 years.

In fact, he called the previous tenant (Mike’s Discount Beverages) every six months for 10 years straight. Then, for the last two years, Tommy phoned him quarterly. Talk about dedication.
Finally, Tommy, Dylan, and family have secured one of the hottest spots in town, and they’re ready to reach new clientele, continue to serve longtime customers, and, very importantly, offer much more parking.

Here are some fast facts to get you pumped about this amazing addition to the Montford area.
- Unlike the Providence location, Park will offer prepared foods (pasta with sauce, ravioli, etc.), salads and deli sandwiches. Sandwiches will range from $6-$7. Don’t worry, pizza will be added to the menu soon.
- Desserts, too: cannoli, tiramisu, almond cream cake, etc.
- Beer will be available on tap and wine by the glass or bottle.
- A stand up bar overlooks the road through the (very cool) garage doors.
- You’ll be able to enjoy your lunch or drink on an outdoor patio when the weather warms up (or sooner).
- Deli meats will be freshly cut with a beautiful Italian slicer. (I got to turn the slicer myself, minus actually slicing anything. It was awesome.)
- All of your staples, such as olive oil, canned tomatoes and balsamic will be available. And of course, fresh pasta cut to order.
- The store is nicely separated so you’re able to just shop, just order a meal, or browse while your meal is prepared.
- Hours: Monday – Thursday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Friday – Saturday, 11 .m. to 9 p.m. Closed Sundays, for now.
- Address: 4700 Park Road
