I hear it constantly: We need more ice cream places.
Relief is finally here in the form of Golden Cow Creamery. Going in the District Flats apartment complex (at the corner of South Church and West Summit) this place is most definitely going to take South End, the Gold District and Uptown by storm.
Its location is perfect with plenty of residents in the area, not to mention Bulldog, Brass Tap, Wooden Robot, Craft, Gallery, the list goes on.

This area is becoming quite a little neighborhood with tons of options to eat, shop and hang out. Now we can add ice cream to the mix. I cannot stress enough how crucial this is filling a void in Charlotte’s sweet tooth category. I have never seen a city with virtually zero local ice cream places (other than Elizabeth Creamery).
Golden Cow is branding itself as a hand crafted, small batch creamery and some of their options sound incredible. Here’s a few selections:
- Cinnamon Honey
- Oatmeal Cookie Dough
- Salted Peanut Butter Cup
- Vegan Toasted Coconut
- Marshmallow Crackle

This small 700-square-foot space will have patio seating, rocking chairs and later hours to satisfy all the beer drinkers/young adults and families in the area.
The hope is to have this place open in the spring but at the very least it will be open while it’s still warm and the sun is shining.
