If you are involved with social media in Charlotte, you need to link up with the team at Social Fresh. Originally started in 2009 by Jason Keath, Social Fresh began as a blog and soon evolved into an incredibly successful conference series.

Since its inception, Social Fresh’s main objective has always been education. And the way they provide instruction dovetails nicely with the very concepts and processes they teach, using social tools to reach and connect their growing audience. Today Social Fresh features a series of webinars, on-line courses, podcasts and of course the blog and annual conference.
“We focus on educating, inspiring and improving results for social marketers,” said Jason Yarborough the director of strategy for Social Fresh (and known as Yarby to his friends).
Social Fresh had its headquarters in the Big Apple for the past five years, but recently Jason Keath moved back to Charlotte, and he brought Social Fresh with him. Obviously you can connect with the Social Fresh team from anywhere via Facebook or Twitter, but the fact that they are physically right here in Charlotte is a huge opportunity for the city. They are an incredible resource for anyone wanting to learn how to optimize the range of tools that social media offers.

“We try to provide more advanced content for marketers, the higher level content. The average attendee to our conference has been in social media marketing for 5+ years.” Yarborough said.
There are plenty of chances to get involved with Social Fresh. They are always looking for volunteers for their annual conference — the next one will be the weekend of August 18-21, 2016 in Orlando, Florida — and volunteering is an excellent way to get your foot in the door and to put yourself in the same rooms as some of the most notable thought leaders in social media. Who knows, it could even lead to your next job.

“I started out putting up signs, putting out materials, signing people in. I’ve literally done every single job Social Fresh has to offer, and most of that I did as a volunteer,” said Yarborough, who credits his current position with Social Fresh to his willingness to do anything and everything needed as a volunteer.

Already consider yourself a social media expert? Then feel free to submit articles to the Social Fresh blog. Tweet Jason Yarborough for all of the submission requirements. It’s a great way to reach and make an impression on the leading minds in social media, but it’s not easy. The pros at Social Fresh are intent on maintaining their reputation for high level, relevant content, and that means having to say “no” to most contributors.
Another way to get involved with Social Fresh is via Social Media Charlotte. Also founded by Jason Keath and a part of the Social Fresh ecosystem, Social Media Charlotte is the local professional group dedicated to all things social media in the city of Charlotte. (They recently relaunched with a membership kick-off at Sycamore Brewery.)
Social Fresh is one of the leading authorities on social media and now they’re back in the QC working out of C3 Labs and cranking out a steady stream of high quality, educational content on a regular basis
If you want to learn more about next level social media techniques, there’s no question, Social Fresh is the place to go. You can find everything Social Fresh via their website, the hub for all of their content, www.socialfresh.com.
