News capsule
Advent Coworking has opened a shared office space in the Belmont/Plaza Midwood neighborhood at 933 Louise Avenue (close to Intermezzo). Advent co-founders Ryan and Kevin are obsessed with building community and unlike many other coworking spaces around town, there are no private offices at Advent.
Advent Coworking’s official grand opening party is Saturday, November 7 at 7 p.m. and will feature live music, food, Birdsong beer and art.
Come join us for our opening party!

The outside looks like your typical old school factory. Probably because that’s what it was.

Founders Kevin and Ryan. Kevin told me that he has just left his job at TIAA-CREF to work on Advent full-time. Both are excellent, high-character Charlotteans.
As we talked, Kevin was pounding coffee even though is was late afternoon. Loved chatting with these guys.
Nothing like another Saturday spent painting… Almost done and ready to open this place!

Podcast studio, meeting & event space
/2024/01/06/1704518704716.jpg)
- Kevin: “The podcast studio contains all the equipment for two or more people to create and record a podcast. All the equipment will be plug and play into a custom table (it will be really sleek/minimalist design). It will be $20 an hour to leverage the room and equipment. We want to create a podcasting hub in Charlotte, so we’ll be leveraging our event space and podcast studio for workshops, classes, and meet ups to discuss and learn about podcasting.”

- Don’t know exactly what this means, but podcasters may understand… Co-founder Ryan told me the parts list includes: “Heil PR40 Mics; Heil Boom Arm Mic Stands; Zoom H4N Audio Recorder; Behringer Xenyx 12 channel Mixer; Integration with iPad, iPhone, and external audio sources for theme music/effects; Mix minus setup for Skype guests.”
