A thank you note to Amelie’s

This is a random act of kindness submission by Jacinda Garabito.

I started a bible study called Stolen Lunches in August 2014.

We started with eight ladies who decided to steal away from our busy lives to give up our lunch break for God. We meet on the last Monday of every month from noon to 1pm.

After a couple months of jumping around to different locations, we all agreed to meet at Amelie’s French Bakery in NoDa. The location was ideal for all of us to easily get back and forth to work.

After a couple months we eventually met Bill Lamb, the owner of Amelie’s.

To our surprise he thanked us for choosing to hold our bible studies in Amelie’s. He then invited us to hold our bible studies in the Versailles private room at no cost. He even locked in all of our dates for the rest of the year!

Bill has never asked for anything in return, he simply opened his doors to us. We want to thank Bill and his entire staff at Amelie’s for all they have done for us.

Amelie’s stays packed with a line wrapped around the door. They did not have to accommodate us, especially with an already flourishing establishment. We are extremely grateful for what they have done for us, so we wanted to thank them by writing a letter about our experience.

Since being at Amelie’s we have been able to touch many women in positive ways.

Quick story. One day, a woman at a nearby table started to cry. She asked if she could join us and we all eagerly made room. She told us how she had an attitude that morning and found herself stressing until she overheard us all talking. At that moment, she knew coming to Amelie’s was not by accident. She is still a vital part of our bible studies.

Thank you, Amelie’s.

Stolen Lunches holds bible studies for men, women and children. We steal away form our busy lives to give up our lunch break to God. On Monday August 31st we will celebrate our 1 year anniversary. We are a global bible study – we meet in person at Amelie’s, or women can call-in from their desk as well as watch LIVE on periscope and MeerKat. We started with 8 women in 2014 and grew to 350 women last month. In celebration of our 1 year anniversary, we have asked women to share their stories of how Stolen Lunches has positively impacted them. Our successes range from increased prayer life, marriages, pregnancies, career promotions, purity, spiritual gifts, friendships etc.
