Red Clay Ciderworks Grand Opening: It’s cider time in Charlotte! The Grand Opening celebration will feature live music, giveaways, corn hole and food trucks, including hard cider slushies by Stix & Cones. Saturday, 7/18; 1:30-10pm. Pre-purchase drink tickets.

Try out for the Real World: Yep, the MTV show. It’s still around. Casting takes place this weekend at Duckworth’s Uptown. They are looking for candidates with “a larger-than-life personality, a unique life story, an adventurous spirit and a personal magnetism that draws attention when they walk in the room.” Good luck! Just Grill It Cooking Class at Upstream: Learn all about fire and smoke from a Harper’s Restaurant Group chef. Class includes tastings, beverages and take-home recipes. Saturday, 7/18; 10am-noon. $40 – call the restaurant to register.
Create your own comic book: The Harvey B. Gantt Center hosts Intergalactic Soul artists Marcus Kiser and Jason Woodberry who will share what it’s like to create stories with images.
