My girlfriend has lived in Solis Sharon Square Apartments for over a year and for as long as I can remember she has looked forward to the opening of Corkbuzz (located in the ground floor of the complex in South Park).
For the uninitiated, Corkbuzz is a wine studio out of New York City and master sommelier/co-founder Laura Maniec is ready to make her mark on the Queen City.

Maniec wanted to create a place where “people can come discover a passion for wine.”
“It’s not just for wine lovers,” she continued and that was the aspect that really struck me. I don’t drink wine, never have and up until recently, I wouldn’t even bother trying it.

However, my experience at Corkbuzz is marked by not only discovering a wine I loved, but eating great food and trying fantastic cocktails. Maniec stated that “Corkbuzz is more than just a wine bar, it’s a restaurant. It’s a feeling. It’s a gathering place. We got booze too.”

The food that I tried was delicious (you absolutely have to try the burger) and the cocktails were out of this world.
David Mudd is the head mixologist and he has crafted an amazing drink menu, which will change seasonally. Mudd told me he loves to cook and that he approaches crafting drinks like “cooking, just different ingredients.” I highly recommend the Sweet Clover and the Outer Boroughs.
Overall I was incredibly impressed with the offerings from Corkbuzz and even if my girlfriend didn’t live above it, I could absolutely see myself going back to try more wines. Who knows… maybe I will become a big fan of wine.
