When did you get it?
I got it over a few sessions but I have had all of them now for about 6 months.
Where did you get it done, artist’s name, costs?
Christian Dunn at Fu’s Custom Tattoos for $150 an hour.
How’d it go down?
I got it in 3 parts – started with 1 rose and then went back 2 other times to add the 7 additional ones – 3 and 4 on the other sittings. 8 total roses.
What other design did you consider (what was your 2nd choice)?
I have always wanted roses…but I did always have the rule that you have to want a tattoo for over 2 years. Now I am a little bit more open to just getting one, but an overall concept is not something you do on a whim in my opinion.
What’s the story behind it?
I have a thing for roses. My godmother’s name is Rose and so is my middle name…”Victoria Rose Savage.” I have always had a thing for roses but the reason I got it tatted on my arm was more than the name…I love the evolution of a rose. No matter the stage, it is beautiful. Blooming to dried out. A rose goes thru so many stages as we do in life and I see that parallel a lot. Change has been the only thing consistent for us right? Well, just like a rose we are also constantly changing so I try to see the beauty in change like I do a rose.
What’s next?
Finish the arm…fill it in with more detail, but I’m debating the design.
