Desk photos:
The duties of my job often have me away from the office, so I really feel like my car is my desk most days! That said, my favorite picture is from the day my husband and I got engaged in Flat Rock, North Carolina. We were on a hike in DuPont State Forest and a kind stranger saw what was happening and took a few awesome pictures. I have that photo on my desk to remind me just who I work hard for.
Computer:
I have a Dell but it has seen better days so I’ll be in the market for a new one soon!
Gadgets you can’t live without:
Hands down, I cannot live without my cell phone. I can do everything from it and truly feel uneasy when I don’t have it with me.
Do you listen to music while you work?
When I am out showing houses, I listen to the radio. I’m a big country music fan. At my desk though, I typically keep it quiet. I like my co-workers too much to subject them to my singing!
What software are you a power user of?
MLS (Multiple Listing Service) is always running so I can stay on top of the most current real estate listings. In this fast paced market, I couldn’t live without Dotloop, a transaction management software. It allows me to write contracts and get clients signatures wherever I am from my phone, iPad or computer.
What’s your favorite spot for a business lunch? Your order?
My favorites are Mayobird and Reid’s. I like the relaxed atmospheres where my clients and I won’t be interrupted while we eat and chat. My order changes depending on the day but I love chicken salad!

Social media habits:
I’m a big fan of Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn for connecting with both clients and friends. All of them are great tools to promoting the real estate market and my new listings.
To-do list manager:
I stick with the tried and true method of pen and paper! I keep a notebook with me for all of my lists, work, grocery, family, etc. There is something so satisfying about checking the box next to an accomplished item. I may even start my to-do list with an item I’ve already done, just so I can check it off 🙂
What everyday thing are you really good at?
I am really good at keeping in touch with handwritten notes. I’m a firm believer in taking the time to show your appreciation with a nice note. In this day of instant communication, it’s a personal touch that gets overlooked far too often.
Best time-saving shortcut or Charlotte life hack:
I’m a native Charlottean, so I can get anywhere on back roads and avoid traffic. I would tell you my tricks but then they wouldn’t be short-cuts anymore!
Sleep routine:
What is sleep? Just kidding – It doesn’t always happen but I try to get 8 hours of sleep.
Where do you go around Charlotte to get away from the office?
I love walking Darby in Freedom Park. On Saturday afternoons, you can find me taking advantage of the local brewery scene. We love the atmosphere at Triple C!
What did you eat for breakfast this morning?
Today, I had a Luna bar. I’ll grab anything I can eat on the go, but always two cups of coffee. Always.
What’s the last book you read and why?
Me before you. My sister and mom recommended it and it was the perfect read for a recent girls trip to Nashville.
If you weren’t doing your current job, what would you be doing?
My Grandmother started Helen Adams Realty 40 years ago. I’m lucky enough to work for my family company with my brother, Frank, as my business partner. I love my job and I honestly can’t imagine being anywhere else.
