- Hits Charlotte in the mid-May. iOS app. Android app.
- Postmates charges 9% of the total order plus a delivery fee beginning at $5 for users within 1 mile of the store and increases with distance.
- “Chipotle delivery” is Postmates’ flagship partnership and differentiator. Lot’s of buzz.
- How it will work: open app, select restaurant, select order, checkout/pay, select “get it now” and eat. Postmates is reported to be fast (obviously depends on your location). All payment, including optional tip, is through the Postmates app.
- Looking at Atlanta as a comparable, Postmates has relationships with: Chipotle, Starbucks, Einstien’s, Shake Shack, Mellow Mushroom, Cook-Out and a bunch of local joints.

Talking Points
- Jobs: You can apply to become a “postmate” – it’s kind of like an Uber driver. Compensation includes “the majority of the delivery fee and 100% of the tip. Postmate’s make up to $25/hr” Paid weekly. Flex hours.
- Job: Charlotte Community Manager (view and apply). This job looks very cool and I can tell by the description that they’re recruiting somebody with mental horsepower.
- Bullish on Postmates. Their technology is slick and the world is shifting to become more “on-demand.” This will grow in Charlotte, for sure. I can’t wait to use it.
