How amazing is this Charlotte tattoo? Honest story

A guy with the handle /u/Charliemander posted a heartfelt story on reddit:

“I am a 5th generation native to Charlotte, at least as far back as I can trace. My father recently passed away on St. Patrick’s Day, and since then I have been doing a lot of soul searching, and trying to find who I really am. I had a memorial tattoo done for him not long after his passing that included his signature that I found on the original deed to our family home that he purchased when I was born in 1982. The same house I am now currently residing in… ANYWAY, I love this city. I have never left, other than vacations. I never WANT to leave. I’ve been here through a lot of major changes. Some good some bad, but I’ve been here! I have no desire to live elsewhere, and I can’t imagine doing so. I am deeply rooted here, and can say with some sense of assurance that being a native of this fine city, and still being here 33 years later, and being a 5th generation native at that, it’s probably a very rare find these days. So I decided to get a tattoo that said that within the artwork. I wanted something that labeled me as a son of Charlotte, and for how long…”

I don’t know who this guy is, but the honesty he writes with is inspiring and refreshing. If you’re reading this, thank you for sharing with our city.
