soft-pretzels-in-charlotte
I have never met a person who doesn’t like soft pretzels. And to be honest, I don’t want to. I mean, what kind of monster doesn’t like a salty piece of bread that you’re expected to dip into hot cheese?
Since everyone I know (and want to know) loves these hot, twisty treats, I felt it vital to research and compile a list of the best soft pretzels in Charlotte. Here are my findings:
(5) All American Pub
The waitress said this was a pretzel “to share”. I happily challenged that statement. The All American Pub cheese tastes like melted Kraft singles and I’m not going to lie… I didn’t hate it one bit.
(4) Olde Mecklenburg Brewery
Everyone knows that Old Meck is best place for a german-style pretzel and a cold beer. I paired my pretzel with a Captain Jack Pilsner, which was appropriate since it was served with Captain Jack beer cheese. This pretzel would have ranked higher had it not been for the heart attack amount of salt on top.

(3) Leroy Fox

Leroy Fox has their own take on soft pretzels with their adorable pretzel nuggets. These newborn soft pretzels are served with Leroy’s honey mustard and ranch. Do yourself a favor and shell out an extra $1 for the Kickin’ Queso. Because, once again, hot cheese.
(2) VBGB

VGBG’s jumbo gourmet pretzel goes well with literally any beer (and even a vodka tonic—trust me). Their pretzels are large, buttery and served with a big glob of delicious nacho cheese.

(1) The Liberty
The clear winner. I don’t know how they do it, but their ratio of salt-to butter-to doughyness is always right on. The Liberty serves their pretzels with both mustard and what tastes like a homemade dipping cheese. Let’s just say the mustard is the sad, ignored stepchild of this platter.
Bonus: At Liberty, you can choose a serving of two or five. Yes, I said FIVE.
