Birkenstock opens first Colorado store in Boulder

• Business trends aside, it also seems like a spiritual crisis that Boulder never had a Birkenstock location before.

The latest: The store at 1750 29th St., is open 10am–7pm Monday–Saturday and 11am–6pm Sunday.

Zoom in: The debut marks another big brand to open on the Twenty Ninth Street Mall, with Design in Reach newly operating and True Food Kitchen set to open Aug. 10.

What they're saying: Birkenstock officials said Boulder was a "natural" fit for the brand and "(embodies) the values at the heart of our brand — an appreciation for quality, and a commitment to living well."
