This year's Boulder County Fairgrounds nest will have a trio of chicks.
State of play: After the first baby bird hatched on May 20, two more arrived in the next four days.
Site moderators believe the third chick was actually from the fourth egg laid, which means the third egg is beyond its incubation period and not likely to produce a chick.
Yes, but: That does increase the odds of survival for the remaining three.
What we're watching for: The health of the chicks depends largely on the father's ability to hunt, and luckily, this particular male osprey has proven to be quite the fisherman.
But even with all the fish they need, there will be sibling shenanigans. Some grosser than others...
