First osprey chick hatches at Boulder County nest

The latest: Moderators of the nest's camera site noted cracks forming on the egg Sunday afternoon and saw the chick make its first break through the shell on Monday.

• The first chick hatched after 41 days of incubation, which is within the standard window of 37-42 days.

What's next: The next two eggs are also in their hatch window. The fourth is expected to break out sometime over the weekend or next week.
