The Administrative Assistant provides comprehensive administrative support to one Associate Provost and one Assistant Vice President, manages the university's adjunct faculty contract system, oversees academic Honor Code case processes, and collaborates on event management within Academic Affairs. This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week), benefits‑eligible position that is an in-person role and reports to the Associate Provost.

Come join the Matthews Fire and EMS family! We are currently accepting applications for Full-time CERTIFIED CAREER FIREFIGHTER/EMT POSITIONS. Career members are assigned to one of three operations shifts, working a modified 24/48 schedule and a 28-day work cycle, averaging 56 hours per workweek.

The application period for the Matthews Fire Department – Firefighter/EMT Hiring Process will be open from Wednesday, February 18th, 2026, through Sunday, March 15, 2026 at 11:59 PM. This is a competitive process. Interested candidates must apply for consideration.

Located just east of Charlotte NC, the Town of Matthews Fire and EMS is a combination department serving a population of approximately 33,500 people and a 17-square mile district. The department staffs three station and operates 3 engines, ladder, heavy rescue, and 2 EMS squads. In 2025, the department responded to approximately 4500 calls for service, and received a Class 1 ISO rating.

Position: Trainee - Certified Firefighter or Certified EMT:

 Must possess either a North Carolina Firefighter I/II certification OR a North Carolina EMT certification, or equivalent certification with an IFSAC or ProBoard seal. Out-of-state candidates with equivalent certifications must be able to successfully complete the reciprocity process and requirements through the North Carolina Fire and Rescue Commission.

Firefighter/EMT

The position is on-site at the Matthews Police Department. This is a 24/7 operation working 12-hour shifts rotating from 6:30 am - 6:30 pm and 6:30 pm - 6:30 am, including weekends and holidays. Telecommunicators rotate between day and night shifts every three months.

Experienced candidates who are selected will be offered a salary commensurate with experience within the hiring range.

Performs responsible technical and public safety work supervising the Telecommunications Division (dispatch center) of the Police Department. The dispatch center receives routine and emergency telephone calls and personal requests for assistance concerning crimes, fires, rescue needs, or general information. Work is performed in accordance with departmental policy and state and federal law, supplemented with specific directions from supervisors.

This position is primarily based in an office environment. Employees will work in a setting that includes standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, printers, and other office technology. The workspace is typically climate-controlled, but employees may encounter fluctuations in temperature depending on building conditions. Employees are expected to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, adhering to health and safety guidelines, including but not limited to ergonomics, emergency procedures, and general workplace conduct, to prevent accidents or injuries. While most tasks involve sedentary work, there may be occasional requirements for standing, walking, or lifting light materials. Police Telecommunicator Supervisor

Part-Time / Seasonal / Temporary Position

The Bus Driver Position is a seasonal position where the number of days per week and hours may vary, depending on the camp's weekly schedule.

Under general supervision, this position is responsible for driving an activity bus to provide safe, efficient, and on-time transportation of summer camp participants and staff to and from specified designations while obeying all traffic laws about road and highway safety. This is a non-exempt seasonal, temporary position for the period of June 8th – August 7th with no benefits.

Must be conscious of safety methods to avoid injury to others and themselves; Subject to hazards including working in both inside and outside environments, uneven walking/working surfaces, in extreme hot and cold weather, and exposure to various hazards including but not limited to noise, moving mechanical parts, lifting/carrying materials, chemicals, dust, driving in various road and weather conditions, and communicable diseases. Summer Camp Bus Driver

The Town of Matthews is looking to hire eight (8) summer camp counselors to work weekday summer camps. This is a seasonal position where the employee could work up to 40 hours a week.

Performs responsible work involving a variety of activities related to the recreation programs and maintenance of recreation facilities (including parks and buildings) and grounds; performs related work as required. Work is performed under the general supervision of the assigned Division Manager within the Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resource Department.

Working closely with the FCJC Executive Director, the VP will lead the Create Your Jewish Legacy (CJL) initiative and serve as the primary point of contact for our CJL partner organizations and the Harold Grinspoon Foundation. The VP will guide project management efforts, celebrate and steward Book of Life members, and help bring related programs and events to life. This role will also support the identification and engagement of high-net-worth individuals who may benefit from FCJC's services.

The VP will take the lead in planning FCJC's annual legacy celebration and will help share the story and impact of our work.
