Government flags new variants of Spectre chip flaw

Researchers have found two new variants to the Spectre flaw that affects nearly all modern processors and operating systems, according to a warning Monday from the U.S. Computer Emergency Readiness Team (CERT).

Why it matters: Researchers cautioned when the massive chip flaws were discovered in January that new, related vulnerabilities would likely be found.
