• Florida also filed a lawsuit on Tuesday against the Biden administration over the practice of permitting some undocumented migrants to enter the country while awaiting court hearings, which is allowed under Title 8.

What they're saying: "If you look at what’s happening at the southern border, it is a total disaster," DeSantis said Tuesday, echoing remarks by fellow Republican Gov. Greg Abbott of Texas, when he issued an executive order to restrict the movement of undocumented migrants.

• "This executive order makes it clear that Florida resources will not be used to prop up the failed open border agenda enacted by this administration," DeSantis said in a statement.

• The Biden administration did not immediately respond to Axios' request for comment.
