Ethics Committee confirms it's investigating Al Franken

The Senate Ethics Committee has confirmed it is opening an investigation into Sen. AlFranken's behavior after news that a sixth woman has accused him of sexual misconduct.

What they're saying: "The Committee is aware of the recent allegations against Senator AI Franken, as well as the calls for an ethics investigation. While the Committee does not generally comment on pending matters or matters that may come before it, in this instance, the Committee is publicly confirming that it has opened a preliminary inquiry into Senator Franken's alleged misconduct."

Entertainment Studios acquires Weather Channel for $300 million

Entertainment Studios, the media company owned by former comedian Byron Allen, has acquired Weather Group, the Weather Channel's parent company, the L.A. Times reports.

Why it matters: The $300 million deal is the largest in Entertainment Studio's history, per the Times. It doesn't include as "IBM purchased those assets from 2015." The channel's popularity has fallen as people have started turning to apps more frequently for weather news.
