78% of Republicans approve of Trump
78% of Republican voters said they have a positive view of Donald Trump on the latest NBC/WSJ poll. Only 61% said they had a positive view of the Republican party.
Why it matters: Despite his sinking job approval ratings overall, Trump still has the approval of a majority of the Republican base. For all of the Republican lawmakers who have come out against Trump — Corker, Flake, McCain, Collins — Trump hasn't lost GOP supporters, in fact he's more popular than the party as a whole.
