International Dance League raises $15 million after sold out inaugural season

Catch up quick: IDL landed a media rights agreement with ESPN2 in its first season, and partnered with brands like Honda and E.l.f. Cosmetics.

• IDL's six founding teams competed in New York, Vancouver, Sydney and Seoul. The season ended with a weekend in Los Angeles that featured the last regular season showdown and the championship event.

• The league says its first season racked up 2 billion social views and 6 million livestream views.

Follow the money: Elysian Park Ventures led the Series A, with participation from fellow existing investors KB Partners and APEX.

• New investors this round include Sony, Yamaha Music Innovation Fund and October Ventures.
• The company has raised $22 million to date.
