Anthropic tops $100 billion revenue pace, report says

Anthropic is now pacing to generate more than $100 billion in annual revenue, up 50% from just two months ago, the New York Times reported Friday.

Why it matters: The company's growth is accelerating at almost unfathomable rates as it heads for what could be the largest initial public offering in history.

The big picture: Anthropic didn't exist six years ago.

By the end of this year it could be one of America's 50 largest companies by revenue and ten largest by market capitalization.
The revenue pace is more than 10x where the company was at the end of 2025, exploding as the Claude Code and Cowork products fueled broad enterprise adoption.

Driving the news: Anthropic is still pursuing an IPO despite the recent controversy over AI safety and the pace of frontier model development, the Times reported.

The company's schedule would have shares trading by sometime in November, the paper said.

The intrigue: OpenAI CEO Sam Altman recently said his own lab won't go public this year amid those same safety concerns.
