Greatest hits from Rubio's head-turning podcast interview

• The interview showed another part of his political appeal: comfort joking about UFOs, Pop-Tarts, college football and his marriage.

Zoom in: Miller's show is the Trump administration's go-to new media outlet where officials talk at length about their personal opinions and lives in a friendly setting.

UFOs: Rubio nodded to the fact that Miller's husband, deputy White House chief of staff Stephen Miller, has the portfolio overseeing UAPs (Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena).

• "I don't know who it is. I don't know what it is. But there are things flying over our military installation, and they're not ours, and we should look into this," Rubio said.
• Rubio said there was a political benefit to talking about it when he was a senator because, when a reporter would corner him, he would change the subject.
• "Look, I don't have time for these questions about politics. Do you realize there's things flying over our airspace? We don't know what they are. And the reporter's like 'Oh, what do you know? Tell me more?' So it was an extraordinarily effective diversionary tactic," Rubio said.

Music: Rubio paid homage to rapper Tupac Shakur, said he liked electronic dance music remixes, and he's no fan of country music.

• "I'm not anti-country music," he said. "I think it's just very sad. Most of the songs are about somebody whose wife and dog left him."
• "That's not true," Jeanette Rubio, his wife, said. "You need to listen to Morgan Wallen and others."

Marriage secrets: Rubio said there's "no secret to it." But his wife was more expansive.

• "You have to have a friendship," she said, adding that faith is "a very important thing, and I think for Marco, too. Right?"
• "Compliance," Rubio then smiled. "For the husband."

Rubio's dream day: "The right answer is I would spend it with my wife," he said. But the true answer would be in front of the television on a college football Saturday.

• "The greatest show on television today in America is 'College GameDay'," he said.

The ketogenic diet: "You just eat all this protein. And so you go through this massive withdrawal from sugar and carbohydrates for the first 72 hours. It was a near-psychotic event for me," he said.

• "If I had been in this job while doing it, I would've been like, 'Mr. President, we must bomb Paraguay.' And it's like, why? 'I don't know. I'm just really mad. I haven't had any sugar.'"

RFK's diet: "This is a crazy diet," Rubio said. "This is a diet that consists of eating sauerkraut and meat. Now, you understand like this is not a sustainable thing."

• Jeanette Rubio interjected that Kennedy "sustains it because he does it."
• Rubio: "He has to travel with coolers full of sauerkraut. I'm not going to travel the world with a cooler full of sauerkraut. It's ridiculous. I can't do it."

Asked if he's MAHA, Rubio paused and said, "I'm in favor of MAHA. Like I think people should be healthy."

• Jeanette Rubio wasn't having it: "No, he's not."
• What does Rubio eat? "Pop-Tarts," his wife said.
• "No. I don't eat Pop-Tarts every day. The Pop-Tart is one of the great American innovations in the history of the world. It comes in a beautiful foil package.

Cats: Rubio said the family owns two goldendoodle dogs, and he made clear he doesn't like Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth's cat.

• "I never took Pete for a cat guy," Rubio said. "Oftentimes, I'll get home at night and the cat is just sitting on my porch, and just looks at me like, 'What are you doing here?'"
• "It's an arrogant cat."

The other side: Democrats like former Obama administration official Tommy Vietor, host of Pod Save America, are no fans of the show or of the cat clip.
