Axios C-Suite: 4 big AI moves

It's getting harder to keep up with new AI models, pricing wars and must-know advancements. Here's a smart way to make sense of American labs one-upping each other this week:

1. American labs flooded the zone: Meta's Muse Spark 1.1, OpenAI's GPT-5.6 family, xAI's Grok 4.5, plus OpenAI's GPT-Live-1 voice models and its ChatGPT Work agent — all released this week, all impressive.

2. They're cheaper. OpenAI's new budget model, Luna, costs a fifth of its predecessor's price. Grok 4.5 costs less than half the price of Anthropic's comparable Opus model. Meta is making price its differentiator, with Zuck promising much lower costs than OpenAI or Anthropic.

3. They finish your work. The new ChatGPT interface is fully agentic: OpenAI says it can "take action across your apps and files, stay with a project for hours" and "turn a goal into finished work."

4. You can talk to them. OpenAI's GPT-Live-1 models listen and speak at the same time. You can interrupt them, or have them translate live. OpenAI is betting voice becomes "the primary interface to computing."
