From a couch-friendly concert to a true-crime case, here are a few notable things to stream this weekend.
Bonnaroo livestream — Available now through Sunday on Hulu and Disney+
- Folk hero Noah Kahan and EDM heavyweight Skrillex headline the Tennessee music festival.
- Catch up quick: Last year, the festival was called off early due to rain. This is the first time that the performances will be livestreamed on Disney+ in addition to Hulu.
"Alice and Steve" — Season 1 available now on Hulu
- Longtime best friends (Nicola Walker and Jemaine Clement) are torn apart after 50-something Steve starts dating Alice's 26-year-old daughter.
- Between the lines: The show is generating a split reaction: critical acclaim on one hand, and accusations from some viewers that its premise is downright creepy on the other.
"Every Year After" — Season 1 available now on Prime Video
- This summer romance follows two former childhood friends who reconnect in Barry's Bay, Ontario, after years apart.
- Behind the scenes: It's based on Carley Fortune's bestselling YA novel "Every Summer After," and has a trailer with six million views and counting.
"I Am Frankelda" — animated film available Friday on Netflix
- This dark fantasy follows a young writer who gets pulled into a monster-filled world with gothic, handmade charm.
- The big picture: It's billed as Mexico's first stop-motion animated feature from directors Arturo and Roy Ambriz, protégés of Guillermo del Toro.
"Maternal Instinct" — documentary available Friday on Netflix
- This true-crime documentary revisits the unthinkable Taylor Parker case in a small East Texas town.
- Catch up quick: In 2020, a state trooper pulled Parker over. The young woman initially told authorities she had just given birth, but investigators soon uncovered a fabricated pregnancy and a far more disturbing case.
