PAC backing Ramaswamy launches huge ad buy in Ohio

The super PAC backing Trump ally Vivek Ramaswamy in his bid for Ohio governor is launching a massive $25 million summer ad blitz in a red-state race Republicans once expected to win comfortably.

Why it matters: Ramaswamy — a 2024 presidential candidate, turned DOGE leader, who has Trump's endorsement — is facing a tight general election matchup against Democrat Amy Acton, director of the state's health department.

The pro-Ramaswamy VPAC today will begin running a statewide ad calling Acton a "radical liberal."

The other side: Acton campaign manager Philip Stein called the summer blitz a "desperate attempt to salvage [Ramaswamy's] struggling campaign."
